A man was transported to a trauma center by medical helicopter after he fell outside of a home and was found critically injured in Richmond Friday morning.

The Richmond Township Fire Protection District responded around 9:58 a.m. Friday to the 5300 block of Mourning Dove Circle in Richmond for a report of a fall victim.

A 911 caller reported they were with the victim, who suffered a head injury, in the driveway of the residence.

Firefighters and paramedics arrived at the scene in five minutes after receiving the call.

They found an adult male who was critically injured outside on the ground, fire officials said.

An immediate patient assessment was conducted and it was determined there was a need for a medical helicopter based on the victim’s mechanism of injury.

A LifeNet medical helicopter was requested and a landing zone was established at the Richmond Township Fire Protection District station at 5601 Hunter Drive.

The victim was in critical but stable condition at the time of transport, fire officials said.
