No one was injured in a small fire at a home in Lake in the Hills late Wednesday evening, authorities said.

Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Fire Protection District Chief John Knebl said crews were dispatched to the 200 block of Apache Trail for a reported structure fire at 5:50 p.m. Wednesday.

Fire suppression crews who first arrived on the scene at 5:54 p.m. were directed to the rear of a single-family home that was under construction, Knebl said.

Crews found a small fire in the area, Knebl said.

The fire was quickly extinguished.

Crews checked the structure for any fire extension but found none, Knebl said.

After the fire was extinguished, fire investigators remained on scene to conduct an investigation.

The cause of the fire and estimated loss are undetermined at this time, Knebl said.
