Two people were injured and transported to an area hospital after a vehicle drove off the roadway and hit a tree on Route 60 in Lake Forest, authorities said.

Lake Forest Fire Department was dispatched for a motor vehicle accident near the intersection of IL Route 60 and Saunders Road at 3:22 p.m. on November 22, Lake Forest Deputy Fire Chief Christopher Roberts said.

While en route, callers reported that the occupants were trapped in the vehicle, which upgraded the response, Roberts said.

Upon arrival, crews found one vehicle that had left the roadway, striking several trees, Roberts said.

No one was trapped in the vehicle when emergency crews arrived on the scene.

Lake Forest ambulances transported two patients to the Lake Forest Hospital, Roberts said.

An adult male and an adult female were treated for minor injuries.
