Ashley M. Starnes, 37, of Woodstock.

A Woodstock woman was arrested after being found with fentanyl and cocaine and she then allegedly made jailhouse phone calls in an attempt to have her roommate hide her remaining drugs.

Ashley M. Starnes, 37, of Woodstock, was charged with manufacturing or delivery of 15-100 grams of cocaine, manufacturing or delivery of 15-100 grams of fentanyl, possession of 15-100 grams of cocaine, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and defrauding a drug test.

A criminal complaint filed in McHenry County Circuit Court alleges Starnes possessed a substance containing cocaine and fentanyl between 15-100 grams on Tuesday morning.

Court documents said the substance weighed 22 grams, which makes the offense a Class X felony, carrying six to 30 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections.

Starnes was also found in possession of measuring cups containing a white powdery substance, considered paraphernalia used in the process to manufacture the drugs, the complaint said.

Starnes was arrested by the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office and transported to the McHenry County Jail.

Court documents said Starnes made phone calls from the jail in an attempt to instruct her roommate to hide her drugs.

The McHenry County State’s Attorney’s Office filed a petition to detain Starnes pending trial.

McHenry County Judge Cynthia Lamb granted the petition and said that Starnes’ entire criminal history revolves around drug offenses.

Starnes is also on probation for possession of a controlled substance.

Among the latest charges against her, Starnes allegedly tried to defraud a court-ordered drug test on November 26.

A criminal complaint said she brought bottled urine with a hand warmer around it into the probation office and deposited the vile of urine into the court-ordered urine test.

Starnes remains held in the McHenry County Jail and is scheduled to appear in court again on December 19.
