No one was injured after a car crashed through the front of a Mexican supermarket and restaurant in downtown Woodstock Tuesday morning, authorities said.

The Woodstock Police Department and Woodstock Fire/Rescue District responded around 6:01 a.m. Tuesday to the area of East Church Street and North Jefferson Street in Woodstock for a vehicle crash.

Emergency crews arrived and found a single vehicle that had collided into a building, according to Woodstock Fire/Rescue District Public Information Officer Alex Vucha.

Vucha said the car struck the strip mall on the north side of the roadway.

The business affected, located at 201 East Church Street, includes Restaurante El Sol and Supermercado El Sol.

The driver, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, was out of the vehicle when paramedics arrived, Vucha said.

The driver did not report any injuries. No one inside the business was injured.

No structural damage was observed but a representative from the Woodstock Building and Code Enforcement Division was requested to respond to conduct further evaluation.

The cause of the crash is under investigation by the Woodstock Police Department.

Police officials have not released further details on the incident as of Wednesday or said whether any citations or charges were issued.
