Police say a woman in her 20s from Round Lake Heights died after she was found unresponsive with injuries in a parked vehicle in a neighborhood in Chicago late Wednesday evening.

The Chicago Police Department and Chicago Fire Department responded around 9:33 p.m. Wednesday to the 3100 block of West Bloomingdale Avenue in Chicago for a report of a wellness check.

A 911 caller reported a female was found unresponsive in a blue mid-size Chevrolet SUV, according to police radio traffic.

The car was parked in the area of Bloomingdale Avenue and Troy Street.

The caller reported bystanders were performing CPR on the victim, who was unconscious and not breathing, police radio traffic indicated.

Officers arrived and confirmed the adult female was unresponsive, police officials said.

Paramedics pronounced her dead at the scene after lifesaving measures failed.

Police officials said she had lacerations in multiple parts of her body.

Chicago Police Area 5 detectives were called to the scene and are conducting an investigation into her death.

Police setup crime scene and blocked off Bloomingdale Avenue between Troy Street and Albany Avenue.

A source said officers recovered a weapon in the vehicle at the scene.

The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office said the woman was 25 years old and a Round Lake Heights resident.

The medical examiner’s office was scheduling an autopsy on her and said that a cause and manner of death had not been determined.
