Police are actively investigating after a man was shot at least twice in front of a residence in Grayslake Friday evening.
The Grayslake Police Department and Grayslake Fire Protection District responded at around 6:20 p.m. Friday to the 500 block of Lincoln Avenue in Grayslake for a report of a shooting.
A man in his 30s was shot in his hip and hand, Grayslake Battalion Fire Chief Jason Brooks said.
The man was conscious and was transported to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville in stable condition, Brooks added.
No other injuries were reported.
Grayslake Police said on Facebook that they were called to the scene at around 5:30 p.m., but the fire department was dispatched to the scene at 6:20 p.m.
“This is an isolated incident and there is no further danger to the public,” Grayslake Police said.
People were asked to avoid the area while police and detectives investigated.
At least seven shell casings were marked at the front of the house near the sidewalk and street.
A bicycle was also seen placed down by the front door of the home.
At least one bullet struck the back windshield of an SUV parked in the driveway.
Officers were seen canvassing the area and attempting to obtain surveillance video of the shooting from neighbors.
They were also processing evidence from inside the house.
It is currently unknown if a suspect or suspects are in custody.
Attempts to obtain additional details from the Grayslake Police Department late Friday were unsuccessful.
