No injuries were reported after a marked Cary Police squad car was involved in an accident on Route 14, authorities said.
Scott Naydenoff, Deputy Chief of Support Services for the Cary Police Department, said the officer was turning southbound onto Cary-Algonquin Road from westbound U.S. Route 14 at 10:15 a.m. on Saturday, January 24, when the accident took place.
Naydenoff said the officer was turning in the marked squad when a vehicle driving eastbound on U.S. Route 14 struck the rear passenger side of the squad car with the front passenger side of the vehicle.
The officer and the 59-year-old male driver from Vernon Hills were not injured in the crash, Naydenoff said.
He said the McHenry County Sheriff’s Department responded to the scene to investigate the crash and complete a report.
Naydendoff said the incident remains under investigation.
