Glenn Wilson, 59, of Waukegan

A Waukegan man has been found guilty at trial of repeatedly molesting a stepchild he lived with in Aurora in 2006.

A jury formally found Glenn Wilson, 59, of Waukegan, guilty of four Class X felony counts of Predatory Criminal Sexual Assault of a Child and four Class 1 felony counts of Criminal Sexual Assault during a trial that concluded last week.

Given the mandatory consecutive nature of the charges, Wilson faces a minimum sentence of 40 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections, Kane County State’s Attorney Jamie L. Mosser said.

Mosser said Wilson was the stepfather of the victim in 2006 and lived with the victim and her family at a home in Aurora.

Mosser said Wilson used his position as stepfather and access to the child to repeatedly sexually abuse the victim.

Assistant Kane County State’s Attorneys Matthew Rodgers and Jacqueline Kliment presented facts during the court trial, Mosser said.

“I want to thank the victim/survivor in this case,” Rodgers said. “Her courage and quiet determination that the truth come out all these years later serves as an inspiration.”

In addition to the prison term, Mosser said Wilson would be required to register for life as a sexual offender in accordance with the Illinois Sexual Offender Registration Act if he is ever released from prison.

Kane County Judge Bianca Camargo ordered Wilson detained in Kane County Jail immediately following the verdict.
