No injuries were reported in a fire in a home in Barrington Hills on Saturday afternoon, authorities said.

Scott Motisi, Chief of Fire and Emergency Medical Services at the Barrington Countryside Fire Protection District, said fire crews were called to the 0-100 block of Longmeadow Drive in Barrington Hills for a reported fire in a single-family residential structure at about 12:27 p.m. Saturday.

He said initial responding units found no smoke or active fire showing from the exterior of the structure upon arrival.

An incident command system was established, Motisi said, and working crews found a small fire in a room that was quickly extinguished inside the structure.

The fire and smoke damage were contained to the initial area of origin with no extension to the rest of the property, Motisi said.

The fire was deemed under control within 5 minutes of initial arrival by incident command.

The cause and origin of the fire remain under investigation by the Barrington Countryside Fire Protection District fire investigations.
