Authorities say a Round Lake Beach man intentionally rammed his pickup truck into a home in Crystal Lake before fleeing the scene, causing over $100,000 in damage Thursday.

The Crystal Lake Police Department responded around 11:28 p.m. Thursday to the 600 block of Tomahawk Lane for a vehicle crash involving a building.

Officers arrived and learned a pickup truck had crashed into the house, according to Crystal Lake Deputy Police Chief Richard Neumann.

Officers found extensive damage to the residence, which was not occupied at the time.

Neumann said the offending driver was identified as Gregory Bruning, 60, of Round Lake Beach.

Bruning drove the pickup truck into the residence several times and fled the area prior to officers arriving, Neumann said.

Neumann said the collisions were intentional and Bruning knows the homeowner.

Three cars, including a Tesla SUV and a Porsche 911 Carrera parked in the attached garage, were damaged.
