The sheriff’s office is seeking the community’s help in locating a Volo teenager who disappeared after being last seen heading to school on Monday morning.
The Lake County Sheriff’s Office announced Tuesday that it is seeking the public’s assistance in locating Thomas Thompson, 18, of Volo.
Thompson was reported missing late Monday evening after being last seen leaving for school on Monday.
Thompson is believed to be driving a white Toyota Camry with Illinois registration ES48065.
Flock Safety license plate reader technology detected his vehicle on Monday afternoon near the Wisconsin-Minnesota border.
“We are working with law enforcement authorities in those areas to assist in locating him,” the sheriff’s office said.
Thompson is described as 5-foot-9 tall, approximately 140 pounds, with blonde hair and hazel eyes.
Lake County Sheriff’s Office Chief Christopher Covelli said it is very unusual for Thompson to disappear like this.
Covelli said there are not believed to be any endangering factors in the case but Thompson is still in high school.
Anyone who sees Thompson is asked to call 911 so officers can check on his well-being.
Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to contact Lake County Sheriff’s Office detectives at 847-549-5200.
