UPDATE – April 20: Police say the man has been located safely and reunited with his family.

Police are asking for the public’s help in locating a man who went missing in Deerfield Saturday morning after coming to the United States to visit family.

The Deerfield Police Department announced late Saturday evening that they were seeking the public’s assistance in locating a missing person.

Jinbao He, 67, left his daughter’s residence in the 1500 block of Gordon Terrace in Deerfield around 6 a.m. Saturday.

He never returned to the home and the family reported his disappearance to the police.

He is 5-foot-6, 150 pounds and speaks very little English.

The man was last seen wearing a dark-colored jacket and possibly white pants.

The jacket he was wearing was seen in the photo that police released of He.

He is visiting family in the United States for approximately six months and does not have access to transportation other than walking, police officials said.

He is known to frequent stores and restaurants near Lake Cook Road and Waukegan Road.

Police officers have searched that area with no results.
