Detectives are conducting an investigation after a 15-year-old boy from Buffalo Grove was found dead inside a residence in Chicago Saturday afternoon, authorities said.
The Chicago Police Department and Chicago Fire Department responded around 1:27 p.m. Saturday to the 2000 block of West Adams Street in Chicago for a report of an unresponsive person call.
Police officials said a 16-year-old boy was discovered unresponsive at the residence.
He was pronounced dead at the scene and Area Three Detectives were called to conduct a death investigation.
Police officials said further information was not available as the investigation is pending autopsy results.
The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office identified him as Antonio Crawford, 15, of Buffalo Grove. Police initially said he was 16.
A 911 caller, who was Crawford’s sister, reported finding the boy not breathing in an apartment, according to police radio traffic. He was cold to the touch and blue.
The medical examiner’s office performed an autopsy on the boy but the results have not been released.
Police officials did not say whether they believe foul play was suspected in the case.
The cause and manner of death remain pending as of Tuesday.
