One person was treated and released after falling into the Fox River in McHenry while opening their boat for the first time on Friday, authorities said.
McHenry Fire Protection District Deputy Chief Chris Kozel said a male was opening his boat for the season on Friday and accidentally fell into the river at Munson Ski and Marine in the 3000 block of Lincoln Road in McHenry.
Kozel said the man fell into about 4 feet of water alongside his boat slip.
Kozel said the man seemed to lose his balance and slipped into the water shortly before noon.
The male was self-rescuing himself when crews arrived on scene, Kozel said.
The subject was evaluated by paramedics for minor injuries and refused transport, Kozel said.
