A woman was left with serious injuries and had to be flown to the hospital after falling down a staircase at a house in Lake in the Hills Tuesday morning, authorities said.
The Huntley Fire Protection District and Lake in the Hills Police Department responded around 6:30 a.m. Tuesday to the 200 block of Boulder Drive in Lake in the Hills for a report of a fall victim.
Huntley Fire Protection District Chief Dan Wagner said it was reported that a person had fallen down a flight of stairs.
Emergency personnel located an adult female victim who was conscious but suffering from serious injuries.
Wagner said responding fire crews requested air medical transport due to the severity and potential life-threatening nature of the injuries.
An ambulance transported the woman to the helipad at Northwestern Medicine Huntley Hospital.
A LifeNet medical helicopter responded and met the ambulance at the helipad, Wagner said.
She was transferred to the flight crew and transported to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville, which is a Level 1 trauma center.
Fire officials said further information on the incident was not available. Her current condition was unclear.
