A man was flown to the hospital after suffering a serious injury when he crashed a dirt bike on a residential property near Woodstock Saturday evening, fire officials said.

The Woodstock Fire/Rescue District and McHenry County Sheriff’s Office responded around 5:20 p.m. Saturday to the 400 block of North Fleming Road in unincorporated Woodstock for a crash with injuries.

Woodstock Fire/Rescue District Public Information Officer Alex Vucha said a dirt bike crashed on private property.

Fire crews arrived and located an adult male suffering from a serious lower-extremity injury, Vucha said.

The severity of the injury required transport to a Level 1 trauma center.

Vucha said a medical helicopter was requested and met the ambulance at the helipad at Northwestern Medicine Woodstock Hospital.
