Due to concerns regarding the integrity of the structure, the McHenry County Department of Planning and Development was notified to assist with evaluating the residence, Vucha said.

Following the assessment, Vucha said the residence was deemed unsafe for occupancy pending further evaluation and repairs.

The American Red Cross was contacted to assist the four displaced residents with temporary lodging and other immediate needs.

The Cary Fire Protection District remained on scene while crews secured utilities and ensured the residence was safely secured before clearing the scene.
