A woman was injured and transported to the hospital after she crashed into a parked car, causing her vehicle to roll over and leave her trapped inside, in Woodstock Saturday morning.

The Woodstock Fire/Rescue District and Woodstock Police Department responded around 10:37 a.m. Saturday to the 1000 block of St. Johns Road in Woodstock for a report of a vehicle crash with a person trapped.

Woodstock Fire/Rescue District Public Information Officer Alex Vucha said firefighter-paramedics arrived within minutes and located a vehicle resting on its roof in the middle of the roadway.

Firefighters learned the overturned vehicle had struck a parked vehicle before coming to rest on its roof in the roadway.

No occupants were inside the parked vehicle at the time of the crash, Vucha said.

Firefighters stabilized the vehicle and worked to safely extricate the woman, Vucha said.

A medical helicopter was initially placed on standby due to the entrapment and mechanism of the crash.

The driver was evaluated by paramedics and it was determined that the helicopter was no longer needed.

The driver was transported by ambulance to a local hospital with minor injuries, Vucha said.

The Woodstock Police Department is investigating the circumstances and cause of the crash.
