City officials announced that the popular coffee shop 7 Brew Coffee has officially opened its first location in Waukegan, with plans underway to open a second location nearby.
The City of Waukegan said Monday that it was “proud to officially welcome” 7 Brew Coffee to the community.
7 Brew officially opened the new location on Monday after a weekend of grand opening promotional events.
The coffee shop is located at 3378 Grand Avenue near the intersection of Green Bay Road.
The company is known for its fast service and wide selection of coffee, energy drinks, teas, lemonades, smoothies and shakes.
The store only offers drive-thru service and does not have indoor seating. Many locations offer a walk-up window.
7 Brew says they are pet-friendly and “love seeing furry friends” in the drive-thru. They offer a pup cup, just like Starbucks.
7 Brew Coffee is already working on opening a second location in Waukegan.
Fencing was installed on Monday morning at the future site, which will be in the parking lot of Tony’s Fresh Market at 1700 North Lewis Avenue.
“We appreciate 7 Brew’s continued investment in Waukegan and are excited to see their continued growth in our community,” the City of Waukegan said.
Waukegan Mayor Sam Cunningham said economic growth “is brewing in Waukegan.”
“I am thrilled to welcome 7 Brew Coffee to the city this summer. From the beloved independent coffee shops to national chains, Waukegan has the perfect coffee blend for everyone,” Cunningham said.
The Waukegan location will be open 5:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily, with later closing hours of 11 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.
A report released by Yelp recently said that 7 Brew, a competitor to Starbucks, is the fastest-growing brand in America in 2026. They saw 244% growth in consumer interest in 2025, the report said.
7 Brew says anyone who is interested in working for the company can stop by a location in person and check on openings.
