Part of Route 41 was shut down after a Porsche crashed with a cement truck and rolled over in Gurnee, sending the driver to the hospital Tuesday afternoon.
The Gurnee Police Department and Gurnee Fire Department responded around 1:30 p.m. Tuesday to northbound Route 41 south of Grand Avenue in Gurnee for reports of a vehicle rollover crash.
Firefighter/paramedics arrived to find a Porsche on its side after crashing with a cement truck, Gurnee Fire Department Lt. Jeremy Hagstrom said.
The driver of the Porsche was out of the car when crews arrived and did not need to be extricated.
Paramedics transported them to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville with minor injuries.
The driver of the cement truck refused to be transported to the hospital.
No other vehicles or occupants were involved, Hagstrom said.
The northbound lanes of Route 41 were shut down between Grand Avenue and Washington Street while emergency and tow truck crews worked the scene.
Route 41 was reopened at around 2:15 p.m.
The crash remains under investigation by the Gurnee Police Department.
