A man in his 30s, who was reportedly a worker, was flown to a trauma center after fire officials say he fell from the roof of a home in Crystal Lake.
The Crystal Lake Fire Rescue Department responded around 8:12 p.m. on July 26 to the 1000 block of Coventry Lane in Crystal Lake for a fall victim.
Emergency radio traffic indicated a male victim had fallen from a roof while working.
Fire crews placed a LifeNet medical helicopter on standby while responding.
Crystal Lake Fire Rescue Department Deputy Chief Mark Menzel said paramedics arrived and found a male who had fallen from the roof of a single-story residence.
The man, who was in his 30s, was conscious at the scene and had minor injuries, Menzel said.
The helicopter was requested to respond due to the height of the fall.
The LifeNet helicopter flew from its base in McHenry and landed at the Northwestern Medicine Hospital helipad in Huntley.
Paramedics transported the man to the helipad and transferred care to the flight crew, Menzel said.
The man was then flown to a Level 1 trauma center for further treatment.
Menzel said the reports available did not indicate why the man was on the roof or whether he was a resident or contractor.
