Six Flags Great America announced that Camp Timber Trail, a new outdoor-themed area, will open next year with nine attractions and the tallest suspended family coaster in the Midwest.
Camp Timber Trail will open in 2027 and will be inspired by woodland trails, campfire traditions and the great outdoors.
The new area will feature nine attractions – three all-new attractions, four newly themed adventures and two iconic park classics.
Great America describes it as “an all-new family adventure where exploration, discovery and outdoor fun come to life in 2027.”
“Representing one of the largest investments in family attractions at Six Flags Great America in recent years, this immersive new area invites families to explore together and create unforgettable memories,” Great America said.
Sky Hawk, a suspended family coaster, will be added to Camp Timber Trail.
Great America calls it “the Midwest’s longest, tallest and fastest suspended family coaster.”
“Gliding through the treetops and weaving through the woodland landscape below, Sky Hawk delivers just the right mix of excitement and family fun,” Great America said.
“From the moment you leave the station, you’ll embark on an unforgettable aerial adventure filled with soaring views, smooth thrills and plenty of reasons to ride again and again.”
In addition to Sky Hawk, two new experiences – Trail Trotters and Forest Grove Play Park – will open, specifically targeting the younger guests.
Trail Trotters is described as a “playful trek through the great outdoors,” while Forest Grove Play Park is an immersive experience “inspired by the sights and sounds of the forest.”
The new area also features four updated attractions – Chirp Chaser, formerly Sprocket Rockets; Wilderness Wagon, formerly Crazy Bus; Creek Cruiser, formerly Yahoo River; and BeeBoppin’, formerly Buzzy Beez.
“Each attraction has been thoughtfully refreshed to fit seamlessly into Camp Timber Trail’s immersive woodland setting while continuing to create the family memories guests know and love,” Great America said.
The Little Dipper and Logger’s Run will remain as classic attractions in Camp Timber Trail.
“Together with the area’s new and reimagined experiences, these longtime favorites help make Camp Timber Trail a destination families will want to explore again and again,” Great America said.
